

Is Planning Permission required?
Usually not. The rules for permitted development allow a great deal of flexibility depending on the size and location of your garden building. We will take you through the process as part of our survey or you can visit the Government Planning Portal website.
Do we have to comply with any Building Regulations?
Depending on size and usage, garden buildings are normally exempt from building regulations. However, typically we construct our buildings to comply with current building regulations anyway and where necessary can upgrade to do so.
What does the price included?
Our price includes the full cost of installation, including suitable foundations (subject to a site survey) and the power supply from the house up to 30 metres away. Your final price, including any optional extras you may have selected, is the price you pay.
Who will install my EcoSmart building?
Our experienced installation teams will carry out the construction process in a safe and orderly manner with the minimum of fuss and with total respect for your property and its surroundings. On completion the building is thoroughly cleaned and the area tidied, the keys are then handed to you with the building ready to use immediately.
What kind of return on my investment can I expect to get?
The installation of a well constructed, practical, garden building will add significantly to the value of your property. Given that the cost per square meter is at least half that of an equivalent sized extension you can expect to recuperate the full cost of the building.
What if access is restricted to my garden?
All of our buildings are constructed using prefabricated panels, which are delivered direct to site in flat pack form that can be carried through the house if necessary.
How well insulated is it?
Our goal is for the building to perform to passive house standards and the construction reflects this. No other garden building has the insulation and air-tightness we supply making our buildings usable 365 days a year no matter what the weather conditions are outside.
Why is it better than an extension?
Firstly tranquillity, being detached from your main living space makes it perfect for work if you are using it as a garden office. Generally, you will not need planning permission, or have to meet building regulations either. It will cost less than a house extension, will be completed in a fraction of the time and has a fixed price, so there will be no 'Extra costs' from the builders half way through. Also, there is no disruption to your home with intrusive building work for several months. Finally, we guarantee not to leave site until the building is completed.
Can I take it with me if I move home?
We can design our buildings to be dismantled and rebuilt and the nature of our foundation system means that the ground beneath could be easily restored to lawn or planting. In reality, the extra value of the garden building makes it more economical to sell the house with the building and use the extra money to construct a new one.
How long will I have to wait?
Obviously each customer's requirements are quite unique in terms of positioning, personal preferences and optional extras, but our lead-time from placing the order to starting the build is typically 4-6weeks. If absolutely necessary, we can turn buildings around in as little as 3 weeks.
